My Training Philosophy

Gain Respect without Resentment

I teach you and the dogs you own. I strive to teach you, the owner, how to develop a healthy human/canine relationship so both you and your dog are happy at the end of the training.

It isn’t so important that your dog be doing the perfect heel or sit but that in general they listen and respect you and that you understand how they think.

"A Time to Correct, a Time to Praise"

To accomplish this I use a combination of praise, corrections and commands to communicate to the dog in a way they understand what I wish of them. I establish some rules and boundaries that will allow you and your pet to live together in harmony.

Training is accomplished with the absolute minimum of physical correction. I teach the owner to use the dog's natural and instinctive rules to communicate with their pet. I show the dog praise as the reward for doing commands and I use the commands to change your pet's behavior.

Gain your dog's respect today... it will make life with your pet better for everyone in the family, including your pet!

Thinking about getting a dog?

A GOOD evaluation can really do a good job of matching dog to owner.

I can be there to help you make the right choice for you and your family. Having a dog is a big commitment. I have the experience you need to make the choosing process a successful one for both you and the dog.

A shelter or rescue dog might be just the perfect ansIr. Many of these are fine dogs that got to the shelter or rescue because their previous owner did not do their homework. Adult dogs, in particular, are often a good choice because their needs are not so time intensive as puppies. Moreover, the adult dog offers a degree of predictability.
