Whether you have a new puppy and would like to start it out on the right foot, or were vainly hoping your unruly dog would eventually calm down, or just need a particular problem addressed for an otherwise mannerly dog, you’ve come to the right place.

Private/ In-Your-Home Training

Training is done in your home. Your dog lives with you in your home. This is where he misbehaves most often so this is where dog behavior training is most effective. I teach your dog to listen in the home environment. If he does not listen at home, he will not listen outside your territory.

After learning in your home, I will work with you as needed outside and around real distractions once you and your dog are ready.

In-Home training is ideal for …

  • Solving behavioral issues such as aggression towards people or other animals.
  • Curing embarrassing habits like barking, jumping up on people, scratching and whining at the back door.
  • Creating an obedient dog or puppy that will sit or stay on command, come immediately when called, and happily walk on leash without tugging.
  • Setting off-limits areas for your dog.
  • Reducing the stress of separation anxiety without the need for sedatives or drugs.

Stay and Train

We also offer to train your dog in our home on a limited basis. Please phone to make a reservation. In this program your dog will learn all of the Basic Essential Commands reliably, On-Leash. During your dog’s 5-week stay, he/she will be taken in as a family member of his/her trainer in a normal home environment. In addition to structured daily training, your dog will have ample opportunities for socializing with other dogs and people, as well as environmental enrichment activities that will take place throughout the day, every day. At the end of the 5-week stay, your dog’s trainer will work with you on a transfer of commands session where you will be shown not only what your dog has learned, but also how to make those commands work for you.
